![]() As far as windows resizing, it’s one more attempt by them trying to make things better that all ready work just fine. There will always be someone trying to build that better mouse trap, even though we all know the current one works just fine and can’t be improved upon. If you don’t do there so called upgrades, they threaten you with, “There will no longer be anymore support for the old system that your using”. I was shocked at all the nonsense over this so called wonderful does nothing upgrade. First off, I had to take an old vendors copy of Windows 7 and install it on my three Windows 10 home computers running the old 1804 build, because I couldn’t update to the newer 1904 OS build, then I download the media creation tool that contained the 1904 OS build. Yep, It’s pretty bad when Microsoft arbitrarily up’s and changes things for no apparent reason. Thank you, I did a screen shot of snap (win 7, screen shot was easier to use) for the future, as you note, apparently it is a stupid feature here to stay. It also gives the insecure an opportunity to roll their eyes and feel good if someone hasn’t kept up with the lasted catchphrase, fashion or computer feature… a world away from reality.Īnd like most elitism, for people who have nothing else to do -) I was amused at the information that “desktop icons are no longer fashionable”.įashion, in case anyone missed the reality, is a way of getting more money out of people each year convinced their survival is threatened and they will be objects of contempt if they are not “fashionable” (who decides?). Windows, even more today than it was, demonstrates the concept of people who are paid to convince us that gimmicks and tricks make up for loss of time and function as people who really use computers for work… search for features now moved or renamed. ![]() I wasted 20 minutes and ranted at the MS person who responded to my feedback about “snap” unable to find out how to turn it off because I didn’t know the magic word for it Thank you and, you had me laughing, setting up a new computer with Win 10 reminds me of setting up Win 7 nearly ten years ago… nothing is easy and a lot of the new features are just gimmicks. It was the difference in scale and layout percentage between the screens that was causing the screens to resize.]” In my case, the laptop resolution (Surface Pro 5) was reduced from 2736 x 1824 (recommended) down to 1440 x 900. The laptop screen was then too small to use, so I reduced the resolution (trial and error) until it was the same as when the scaling was 200%. So I set the large screen to 100% as recommended, then I set the small laptop screen also to 100% (it was recommending 200%). Windows was recommending different percentages. What worked was making sure that the scale and layout were set to the same percentage for each monitor. ” ] Changing the “snap” setting didn’t work for me. I’m quoting his solution below because this seems to be the real answer … It’s the more than 100% screen scaling size in the display resolution settings. The commentor above “William Nakhleh” which posted at “Januat 9:32 pm” had the solution. Noooo… snap settings is not the solution.
